BTW, this is occurring on Toshiba Satellite Pro, Dell Latitude & Dell Inspiron laptops. This problem occured after using Ad-Aware2008 Free. I used an XP Pro SP1 install disk to repair the installation, then brought it back to the pre-sp2 state... You see, I'm searching for information on one computer to fix one that doesn't work...a huge mystery to me.

for some reason it wasn't loading the system hive. it kept restarting..
